Robovie-mR2

I always admire genius people who are able to create fantastic and unimaginable things that anyone may find useful and constructive. Robots, for one, is one of the many things I am always fond of looking at and even wish to have for our home; whether it’s in a vacuum form or as a plain toy.

While I am a fan of so many synthetic creations, many geniuses seem to never stop from evolving and enhancing their different masterpiece. And ATR (Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute) is just one of them. So what do they have this time? It’s their diminutive robot named as, the Robovie-mR2.

This robot is said to be the smaller version of the company’s Robovie R-2 (vie = life). This is the kind of robot that anyone can place on their desk being just 30cm (about 1 foot) tall and weighs 2kg (4.4 lbs). The robovie-mR2 has been designed with an iPod Touch dock in its chest. The iPod allows you to control the robot via a wireless game pad, or send it updates and comes equipped with a super-compact CCD camera, 2 microphones, and a speaker for its communication purposes.

This diminutive robot is capable of moving its eyeballs and other abilities which totals to 18 (2 eyes x3; head x 3; 2 arms x4; waist x1). Robovie-mR2 is a project in progress and will not be available in the market yet but it is something to watch out for.
