As I was browsing through the web searching for an interesting subject and cool gadget(s), I came across this site wherein somebody has written a review about how he hated and later on liked the idea of wearing headsets for hands-free mode in receiving or dropping a call. What made him liked the idea is through this device dubbed as the ORB ring.

Sounds creepy, huh? Don’t worry, this thing have no relation to any paranormal thing. This is plainly a device that has transformed the traditional bulky, wireless earpiece to an accessory. ORB ring. Given that name, it’s probably obvious that the device comes in a ring approach. Indeed.

The Orb transforms from a ring with a simple twist to become a Bluetooth headset capable of hands-free calling. Incorporating NXT technology the Orb provides high quality bone conduction audio without the discomfort of placing a device inside the ear. A Deluxe edition also features a Flexible Organic Light Emitting Device (FOLED) screen to display caller ID, calendar reminders, and voice-to-text information for communication without taking the ring off the finger.

The Orb ring device will come out in several series, the first batch was released just recently while the Deluxe and the limited edition designer models are due in April 2010. Prices also vary; from $129 to $175 with the current and deluxe edition while the price of the limited edition will be based on the value of the gemstones incorporated into the device.
